sophia coppola is one of the best directors out there & all of her films are my favorites and have fantastic soundtracks. you just can't go wrong with air, the radio dept., gang of four, and new order.

plus, she's got a pretty good taste in men...thomas mars from phoenix is the father of her children. classy lady.

this san diego weather is wonderful. i love the rain, it makes everybody hold themselves differently throughout the day as they walk and i see it as a fragile symbol of the soul. the most common behavior i see is the people who button up their coats and hug themselves in so no coldness touches them. they try to cover every part of their body so nothing is exposed to the chill. but it's the other people that catch my attention. they love it & freely unzip their jackets and let the crisp weather get into their skin and hit their bones. it's these people that i want to be more like in not caring and just being and letting free. to be not so guarded in letting the cold in.

so it's not secret that i have a teeny, tiny obsession with sex & the city. i've recently got my roommate hooked on it and as we've been watching the seasons i find myself coming to the conclusion that carrie bradshaw should be ranked high up there on the list of the world's philosophers. she's genius when it comes to us women and the loves of our lives:

emiliana torrini has been one of my favorites for a while now & she keeps getting better. her sound takes me back to the first time i heard her when i was 17 and didn't have a care in the world: senior year of high school, got into college, thought i fell the hardest in love for the guy, and lived it as crazy as i could. oh to know the things i know now.
